Department of Human Resource

The Department of Human Resource Management is headed by Commissioner, Mr. Olum Samson

The Department is responsible for Human Resource Management offering technical guidance, reviewing and updating the terms and conditions of services as well as the Public Service policies, procedures and regulations with a view of promoting performance management, Good Governance Accountability, Transparence, delivery of services and eradication of poverty.

6. DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCE

The Department of Human Resource Management is mandated to develop, interpret, implement and review Human Resource policies for the Ministry of Local Government as well as for the Local Governments.

  2. Five Senior Officers (2 Senior Assistant Secretaries, 1 Senior Human Resource Officer, 1 Senior Economist; and 1 Senior Accountant)
  3. Seven Officers; ( 3 Assistant Secretaries, 2 Economists, 1 Human Resource Officer; and 1 Personal Secretary).

 

  • ACHIEVEMENTS

In Financial Year 2018/19 and 2019/20, the Department registered the following achievements;

  1. A total of 96 positions were filled
  2. A total of 163 Ministry staff benefited from various training programs
  3. Performance agreements for CAOs and TCs were signed
  4. Supported HIV/AIDS initiatives in Local Governments
  5. Technical support was offered to Technical Officers and Political leaders in 18 Districts.
  6. Carried out routine inspections in 45 Urban Councils , undertook on spot audit of key positions and status of recruitment in 76 Districts.
  7. Provided hands on support in 18 Local Governments
  8. Conducted one meeting for members of District Service Commissions.
